CAMP WEEK DESCRIPTIONS
Day Camp 1 & 2 are both one day experiences that begin at 10:00 and concludes at 4:00. The six hours in between are filled with hands on learning, worship, crafts, recreation and of course lunch in the Dining Hall. Day Camp 1 is led by Michelle Stilt from Greenville FCC and Day Camp 2 is led by Michelle Deckard from FCC Wood River.
Teddy Bear is the first overnight experience opportunity for our campers. This camp begins at 5:00 on Friday and ends at 11:00am on Saturday. We know that the first overnight experience can be stressful and many campers (and parents) are anxious about the prospect. That is why its called Teddy Bear, girl campers can bring Mom, Grandma, Aunt etc. and boys can bring Dad, Grandpa etc. to stay with them at no extra cost! We have found that parents love sharing this experience with their child and it's a great way to help your camper begin a camp journey that will shape their childhood and effect their eternity. Teddy Bear is led by Kori Machado from St. Elmo Christian Church and Erin Klugg from Copper Creek Christian Church.
First Chance gives campers their "first chance" to be big kids and sleep at camp for two night WITHOUT Mom or Dad. This Camp begins at 5:00 Sunday and ends at 4:00 on Tuesday. This is a "Main Camp" program that consists of classes/missions/team memorywork/missions in the mornings, camp recreation in the afternoon and worship, fun activities and campfire in the evenings. First Chance is led by Tyson and Tiffany Graber from Greenville FCC and Aaron Kelso from Restore Christian Church in Highland.
Junior 1 & 2 are both great weeks of camp that run from Sunday at 5:00 until Wednesday at 4:00. These are "Main Camp" programs that consists of classes/missions/team memory work/missions in the mornings, camp recreation in the afternoon and worship, fun activities and campfire in the evenings. Junior 1 Camp is led by Eris Ridens from Greenville FCC and Junior 2 is led by Kori Machado from St. Elmo Christian Church and Erin Klugg from Copper Creek Christian Church.
Junior Wilderness is an opportunity for campers to "rough it" a little by sleeping in tents, learning to cook some meals outside as well as learn some basic survival skills and of course spend time in God's Word everyday. All of this happens at out Wilderness Camp area 100 yards into the woods North of our Lakeside Dorm. Junior Wilderness begins Sunday at 5:00 and runs until Tuesday at 4:00. This program is led by Paul Cayo from Greenville FCC.
Jr. High 1 & 2 are two of our largest camp programs and you should strongly consider signing up early for these weeks. These are "Main Camp" programs that consists of classes/missions/team memory work/missions in the mornings, camp recreation in the afternoon and worship, fun activities and campfire in the evenings. These two weeks run from 5:00 Sunday until 4:00 Friday. Jr. High 1 is led by Todd Sorgea from FCC Wood River and Colin Baker from Ramsey Christian Church and Nathan Brands from Brownstown FCC. Jr. High 2 is led by Josh Wolford and MItch Sefton both from Carlyle Christian Church and Trey Hardimon from Leclaire Christian Church.
Fin and Feather is a new take on what has been Fishing Camp for the past several years. Not only will the campers receive training on everything fishing, this year they will also learn to properly handle and shoot bows. There will still be ALOT of time for fishing as well as ALOT of time for practicing archery. Campers will need to provide at working rod/reel and a tackle box with basic items, a bow/arrows can be brought but is not mandatory as Bond Camp has several that can be used. As always, Gods Word will be the foundation of this week that begins at 5:00 on Sunday and ends at 4:00 on Friday! The Dean of this week is Brad Cripe from LeClaire Christian Church in Edwardsville.
Bicycling Camp has returned! Tim Kelly and Dee Armes from Greenville FCC will be leading this exciting week where the campers will be riding 15 or so miles each day on the paved bike trails in Bond, Clinton and Madison counties. In addition to strong Bible teaching and worship this week will include enjoying the majesty of God's creation as they ride. Each camper will need to provide a "multi-speed" bicycle in ready to ride condition. This camp begins Sunday at 5:00 and ends at 4:00 on Friday!
Horseback Camp fills up faster than any week here at Bond. In fact, it is usually full within the first 24 hours of Registration opening. This is a great week where the campers spend 3+ hours of each day at the horse farm learning about the horses, how to care for, equip and ride the horses. ALL HORSES WILL BE PROVIDED. On Friday, there will be a horse show and lunch and the horse farm where parents are welcomed to enjoy the show and lunch as well as sign their campers out if they wish. The Dean's are Annette Donaldson from Beecher City Church of Christ and Liz Bayes from Keyesport. This camp begins Sunday at 5:00 and ends after the horse show on Friday. SPECIAL NOTE: PER OUR INSURANCE CAMPERS MUST ALSO BE 12 TO REGISTER FOR THIS CAMP.
MAD Camp (Music/Art/Drama) is a really special week! During this camp the participants will work together to learn a musical, build a set and go on tour at the end of the week. This camp is open to all levels of talent and challenges campers to use their God given talent to glorify the Creator. This camp begins Sunday at 5:00 and ends the following Sunday at 7:00 following their final performance here at Bond. This week is led by Ryan Wisnasky of Copper Creek Christian Church in Maryville and Neely Gunn of Restore Christian Church in Highland as well as Katie Wisnasky also of Copper Creek.
Adventure Camp is a brand new week this summer at Bond Camp. Campers will travel to the Great Smokey Mountains and stay in a cabin. After breakfast each day the campers will hike 10-12 miles on the Appalachian Trail before returning to the cabin for Supper and a time of Worship and Teaching each evening. This camp is limited to the first 12 campers to register and the week will begin on Sunday at 5:00 and end on Saturday evening (exact time to be updated as the day nears). Jeff Chamberlain and Jake and Katie Mellor of Copper Creek Christian Church as well as Kara Quick of Bond Camp and Greenville FCC will be leading this adventure.
High School is one of our largest camp programs and is the highlight of the summer for the many teenagers who attend. Oftentimes life long friendships are formed and futures are planned as campers listen to God's Will for their lives. Everyone who attends this week is changed for the better and leaves knowing God better than when they came. This camp begins on Sunday at 5:00 and ends on Friday at 4:00. Matt Churchill from Greenville FCC leads this camp along with Brandon Atkinson from Northside Christian Church in Vandalia.
